The Standing Committee of the Diocese of Northern Michigan writes in their diocesan newsletter about the consents process for their bishop-elect. They caution that the diocese should be patient since the consents process can take a full 120 days. That time period began for Standing Committees on March 21 and for bishops on March 27. Of course, the SC doesn't mention their bishop-elect's lay ordination as a Buddhist. They downplay his Buddhism by referring only to his "use of meditation." There is also no mention that the consents are currently running 3 to 1 against their man among the bishops and 2 to 1 against from the SCs. They do say that "some" bishops and "some" SCs have voted no. And they also say that their guy is "a man of deep faith." What faith that he is steeped in they don't say.
