A Message from the AAC:
The AAC will stand for the orthodox faithful at TEC's General Convention this summer. You are invited to stand beside us.
And Jesus answered him, "The first of all the commandments is: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength;' this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this: 'Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.' There is no other commandment greater than these." Mark 12:29-31 KJ21
On July 6th through July 18th, we will be present at the 2009 General Convention of The Episcopal Church in Anaheim, CA. We will be there to provide strategic, pastoral and spiritual support to orthodox bishops, deputies and alternates, just as we have in the past. We will also be there to shine the light of truth on what is really happening in the Episcopal Church, and to report that truth to you and the world.
Please contact us, if through prayer, you feel called to come as a volunteer and contribute your talents in support of this effort.
We have volunteer needs in several areas:
- Greet visitors - We will staff a booth and provide information at the convention
- Track legislation - As it is formulated, we will report daily to deputies and other orthodox participants
- Administrative support - We will run a small office to produce the daily briefing plus press releases.
- Prayer and worship - We will provide prayer, intercession and daily worship services
We are hopefully seeking volunteers who are able to serve for a week, or for the full convention if possible, but don't be deterred if you can only stay 4 or 5 days.
A wide variety of hotel accommodations are available in close proximity to the Convention site, ranging in price from approximately $50-$150 per night. We will do our best to assist with transportation to and from the airport. Most hotels provide a continental breakfast. We are providing lunch for volunteers, and dinner will be on your own.
Please contact our Volunteer Coordinator at the American Anglican Council offices for further information or to request a volunteer sign up sheet:
