The congregation can affiliate with whatever church they choose but the property belongs to the Episcopal Diocese. Render unto Caesar what is Caesars, render unto God what is God's". Even a non profit must abide by the laws of the State of CT. The property is not deeded to the 780 members of the congregation.

That is what the courts will decide. Under neutral principles of law the holder of the deed is the one who owns the property. I do hope and pray that the congregation of Bishop Seabury Church will prevail in court.
