A STRATEGY THAT CHANGES THE DENOMINATION
A STRATEGY THAT CHANGES THE DENOMINATION
Anglican Evangelicals, the Conversion of England and the Transformation of the Anglican Church

Preface
In July of 2011, I and some friends organized what eventually became the Anglican Evangelical Junior Clergy Conference.
The stated aim of the AEJCC was to identify and encourage a future generation of Anglican clergy leaders, beginning with those who were currently exploring ordination, in training, in a curacy or in their first incumbency. The initial motivation was simply a sense that people were looking for guidance and direction about their Anglican and evangelical identity. In the process of preparing for and participating in the Conference, however, a new perception began to emerge of how to address the problems confronting the Church.
Inspiration for this came from two documents. One was the 1945 Church of England report Towards the Conversion of England, a copy of which I happened to pick up at a local church fĂȘte several years ago. The other was a small book with a long title, Reorienting a Church for Accelerated Growth: With Special Reference to the Anglican Diocese of Taita Taveta, Kenya, by Bishop Samson Mwaluda, lent to me by a member of Crosslinks.
