Episcopalians Return to Historic Church Sunday

Returning to the Historic Falls Church for the first time in five years following a schism in the congregation that forced them into exile, the “continuing Episcopalians” who recently won a lawsuit to reclaim the property will return to it for the first time this Sunday, April 8, for an Easter Sunday service of Holy Eucharist beginning at 10:15 a.m.
The service will be held in the historic chapel on the site. For the last five years, the “continuing” congregation worshiped in the fellowship hall of the Falls Church Presbyterian Church across the street, while those who voted to defect from the national Episcopal denomination, protesting in part its election of an openly-gay bishop, aligned with a conservative Nigerian bishop and helped form the “Council of Anglicans in North America (CANA).”
The first significant reclamation of the property will occur on Saturday, when preparations for the Easter Sunday service will be made, including a choir rehearsal and run-through of the service.
