PECUSA Gets Even More Bizzare

From the Midwest Conservative Journal blog:

The problem with the Episcopal Church(well, one of them) is that it is increasingly hard to be funny about an institution that refuses to stop making fun of itself. Says here that the Rev. Paige Blair is a candidate for Bishop of the Diocese of El Camino Real. In 2006, Rev. Blair, it seems, got a PhD in Holistic Ministry(Family Systems, Addiction and Recovery), from something called the American Institute of Holistic Theology at which she took courses like these:

DHM301 • ADVANCED JUNGIAN PSYCHOLOGY
Provides a deeper understanding of the concepts and practices of Jungian Psychology.

DHM308 • LIFE SKILLS
Answers these essential life questions: What is resilience? How does one develop it? How does one apply it?

DHM309 • BIBLICAL STUDIES
What is the hidden meaning of The Bible? How do such powerful Old and New Testament paradigms as the Ten Commandments and The Sermon on the Mount apply today? Explore what The Bible means to you.

Besides her dissertation, Rev. Blair needed six hours of electives and she had a wide variety of interesting courses to choose from including the following:

BME105 • REGRESSION THERAPY
Introduces past-life regression therapy and the opening of the third eye.

BME107 • INTRODUCTION TO EDGAR CAYCE
Edgar Cayce, the sleeping prophet, is studied for the system of metaphysical thought and healing that comes from his readings.

BPP108 • INTRODUCTION TO PSYCHIC INTUITION
Introduces the study of how to awaken or increase psychic abilities, awareness and imagination.

BPP110 • STARS AND CONSTELLATIONS
An in-depth view of different perspectives on beginner’s astrology, including natal charts, interpretative guidelines from a soul perspective and how astrology can assist with the evolution of the soul.

BPP111 • SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
Offers the student an introduction to the awakening of divine potential and the power of intent. before one can become a healer of others, one must first become acquainted with his or her own authenticity.

MPP203 • UNDERSTANDING PLANTS
Explores the relationship between the body/mind and plant-consciousness.

MPP204 • UNDERSTANDING ANIMALS
Introduces communicating with animals, both as animals and totems, and the increasing awareness of one’s own instinctual nature.

I suppose it would be pretty important for a person to "become acquainted with his or her own authenticity." I know that it would seriously impact my own life if I thought I was fake.

The notions of plant consciousness and animal communication are interesting ideas. I've always felt the hydrangeas out back of the library where I work had it in for me but that might have just been the squirrels running smack.

The heck with El Camino Real. Send Rev. Blair straight to 815.
