As An Inch At A Time notes, last Friday Time reporter David Van Biema wrote a story on the coming schism of the Anglican Communion that would happen through GAFCON. It hasn't happened, so today Van Biema wrote another story about how the threat of schism has fizzled. Isn't it nice that you can provide a premise and when you're wrong you can then blame someone else? ENS does the same thing in the story posted below.
As an aside, in reply to what Susan Russell writes following these two Time stories, Susan, we are a confessional church. In Anglican churches that use prayerbooks (you know, our tradition and all that), we confess our faith with the creeds in our Eucharist and Daily Office services. We also confess our faith in other prayerbook liturgies. It is just plain wrong to say that we are not a confessional church as if any belief is just fine in Anglicanism.
