51,000/200
As David Virtue reports below, 51,000 Episcopalians and 200 parishes in the Dioceses of San Joaquin and Pittsburgh have left pecusa. What this means is that the number of Episcopalians departing pecusa is accelerating. For 2006 and 2007 the numbers departing pecusa have been around 50,000 a year. 2008 numbers could be double that. The inclusive church appears to be losing more members the more inclusive she gets. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone that when a church like pecusa departs from biblical norms that the result is lost members. While pecusa's act may play well in Manhattan and San Francisco, generally people are looking for churches that actually believe something beyond what the left-wing fringe of society believes.
