The DCNY blog has learned that Bishop Adams will be at Trinity Memorial on October 28 at 7 p.m. for a pre-convention meeting. I'd like to suggest some questions for the meeting.
1. How much money has the diocese spent on legal expenses related to the cases against Fr. David Bollinger, St. Andrew's, Syracuse, St. Andrew's, Vestal and Good Shepherd, Binghamton? How much is being budgeted for legal action against Good Shepherd, Binghamton?
2. Why did the diocese decide that suing parishes is a higher priority than youth work and the other staff positions that were cut?
3. Wouldn't the money that has been spent on legal expenses have sustained the Thornfield Camp and Conference Center for many years? Why did you bulldoze Thornfield while you are willing to spend diocesan funds on lawsuits?
4. Do you think that Jesus is pleased with Christians suing other Christians over property? Would not His statement that the Son of Man had no where to lay His head and His other statements about property indicate that Jesus did not hold property in high regard?
5. How will you lead this diocese into growth? We have seen many parishes in this diocese decline during your tenure as bishop. How will you help us to reverse this trend?
6. Why were you willing to lose the ecclesiastical trial against Fr. Bollinger rather than release the Shaffer Report? Can you honestly say before God and this gathering that the Shaffer Report did not contain findings of illegal behavior on the part of diocesan staff? Further, can you honestly tell us that you were not implicated in the illegal behavior?
If anyone else would like to contribute questions, please do so in the Comments section.

Could we get a budget as transparent as this?
That would seem to take care of most of the questions you have. Transparency, an idea whose time has come, even for CNY?
I don't know who Bishop Ozzie Clumber is, except that he sounds like a fictional character. Anyway, the good or fictitious bishop directs us to the Diocese of Western NY and their budget process:

Now how would I type if I were a fictional character? I am the First Canine Bishop of the Episcopal Church (there are now 3 of us, as well as an FBE (Feline Bishop Extraordinaire). I am the new bishop of the Real Diocese of Pittsburgh, replacing the other old dog who used to be here.
To be honest, you may have actually given me communion, which means that you've violated some canon or other in offering communion to a dog,
And I think the diocese of WNY, while probably as flawed as any, does its budget just about right. After all, I've seen local parish budgets, why should I not see the diocese budget? It's like the old saw used in so many sermons about showing someone your checkbook to see if they are serious about what is important.
It might also help to note that I have a blog entry of support for you here
Bishop Clumber, I beg your pardon. I didn't know that there was a canine bishop of pecusa. Given all that pecusa has done lately I shouldn't be surprised.
You type remarkably well for a dog.
I didn't realize that you had commented on the nonsense from the chancellor of the DCNY at the 2006 Convention. Thanks for your support.
Us old dogs, we get around...
And clearly, there's some old dogs in the Anglican world, in Africa, in the Southern Cone, In Australia, and maybe even in Vestal! And we can probably make a good sane case for the church being in better hands if some of these jamokes were real cats or dogs. Maybe better off if some of the priests were too...
