A memo by Bishop Adams is at:

In his memo, Adams blames current economic realities on the staff reduction. He doesn't mention that he's lost three parishes including two that were among the top financial contributors to the diocese. He also doesn't mention the money that has already been spent and will be spent on lawsuits.
I would think that the money that it will take to sue Church of the Good Shepherd would be sufficient to cover at least two, if not all three, of the staff positions being cut. But, as Skip has told us, a budget is a theological document, and in the DCNY suing parishes is a higher priority than youth work or other concerns. How interesting. What malfeasance.
Note to the DCNY: Given the poor leadership that you are all receiving you might want to rethink your position on burying the Shaffer Report without viewing it. Sticking your heads in the sand while the diocese implodes isn't the most responsible or best action.
