I continue to be amazed at how liberals want to limit free speech. A few months ago I commented on how Lionel Diemel monitors comments on his site before admitting them. There was Fr. Jake (Terry Martin)who took down comments that didn't comport with his viewpoint, even if they were otherwise non-offensive. Susan Russell's site puts comments in moderation before posting them as does Lauren Gough.
Gough has started a little firestorm over at her site by misquoting a fellow priest in the Diocese of Central NY. It is interesting to watch as the priest defends himself and then is attacked by homosexuals. Some of the attacks are vicious, although one commentator who either blocks those attacks out or doesn't read them talks about how loving everyone is to this priest.
I wrote a comment about how liberals are attempting to redefine sodomy as rape, but my comment didn't make the cut. Just another example of how liberals don't really believe in free speech.

What amazed me is how it took 7 to 10 liberal homosexuals to attack Fr. Doug Taylor-Weiss. My father has long noted than on the cable news talking head shows, one smart conservative is usually more than a match for 3 to 5 liberals. Fr. Doug is proving his point on Lauren's blog. I thought about jumping in to help Fr. Doug, but figured (1) my post would get rejected anyway and (2) noted that Fr. Doug was tearing them apart intellectually anyway, thus the resorts to name calling.
On another note, I was amused also by Lauren's latest new label that she has decided she will use to attack conservatives. She likes to call Fr. Doug a neo-conservative. I did a wikipedia search of neo-conservative and found out this is the definition:
"Neoconservatism is a political philosophy that emerged in the United States. Their key distinction is in international affairs, where they espouse an interventionist approach that seeks to defend national interests."
Please feel free to enlighten me, but I cannot figure out exactly what Fr. Doug's views on foreign policy have to do with the same sex marriage debate (except that he probably opposes the church's blessing of same sex marriages performed overseas as well as in the U.S., but again it makes little sense given the definition). Moreover, the best known neo-conservative is Dick Cheney, who supports same sex marriage, as his daughter is openly gay, making the label even more nonsensical.
I am guessing she just figured it would be a neat name to call someone she does not agree with. A common strategy that my four year old often uses when he is angry.
I answered the charge that I am not interested in conversation in an earlier comment here. I do not monitor comments on my site before “admitting” them. My blog simply does not accept comments, something I explained in the aforementioned remark. Anyone who has something to say can e-mail me.
Yes,Lionel, you're not interested in conversation. Got it.
