I only started following the Anglican story for the last three years of Frank Griswold’s leadership of the Episcopal Organization; maybe it also took him a few years to get rolling. So Katharine Jefferts Schori may be hitting her stride.
The Presiding Bishop recently delivered a speech to the Anglican Church of Canada’s General Synod. The speech itself was unremarkable except as rich fodder for the Episcopal Drinking Game. But in the middle, Mrs. Schori got off one of the greatest pieces of Episcopal shamelessness that I’ve ever read:
She also noted that Episcopalians are “beginning to move beyond buildings”
Sometimes all you can do is shake your head. I scarcely know what to do with mendacity that effortless. I wonder if the Presiding Bishop has been made aware of how much money the Episcopal Organization is spending to obtain exclusive legal title to things she claims TEO wants to get clear of.
