SHOT DOWN IN FLAMES

These days, the Episcopal Organization reminds me of me. Sometimes it took four or five plausible or semi-plausible reasons why she wouldn’t be available that Friday, maybe some other time, before it sank in that she wasn’t interested in dating me or anything else, for that matter, and was never going to be. David Virtue reports on yet another Christian church that has just had a sudden, out-of-town, family emergency:

From the Diocese of the Rio Grande, a VOL reader wrote to say that the Diocese was supposed to have the ordination of its new liberal bishop at Hoffmantown Baptist Church, the largest church in Albuquerque. “When someone called them and mentioned that V. Gene Robinson, the activist homosexual Bishop of New Hampshire, would be attending the consecration. they pulled the rug from under the feet of the Diocese and dis-invited them.

“To date, the diocese has not found another venue for the ordination and has resorted to using the ballroom of a hotel in Albuquerque.”

For those of you who have already come up with at least three jokes involving Gene Robinson and a ballroom, I have too so just let it be.
