The first series of 'Rev', the BBC sitcom about an inner-city vicar, has earned plaudits from the liberal Anglican establishment and averaged two million viewers each week. According to the Guardian, the Archbishop of Canterbury is a fan calling it 'really rather good' and saying that it highlighted 'the continuing commitment of the Church to run-down and challenging areas'.
