Liberals don't see the connection explanation

The post below concerns the financial bankruptcy of the Crystal Cathedral in California. As you can see it was posted at the uniformly liberal blog The Lead. However, while there is a bit of reflection at the end of the post, very little is said about how liberal mainline churches (like pecusa) have taken a similar tack and are also hurting financially and otherwise. Sure, the CC tried to be liberal evangelicals and that's not the same thing as pretty much dispensing entirely with Scripture, but you'd think that the trajectory is clear enough. You might think that the fate of the CC might inform liberals about their future as well, but no, liberals are incapable of this sort of reflection. Attendance is off, membership and money are down, pecusa is taking on a $60 million line of credit, but as they say at Stand Firm, the official line is All is Well. Amazing.
