"It's the most positive gathering of Episcopalians I've been to in a long time," said Cherie Wetzel, staff member of Latimer Press and an old friend.
I agreed, and I could tell that the two of us were not the only ones feeling awkward about walking out of a meeting of Episcopal conservatives feeling strangely positive. Bishop Mark Lawrence a few minutes earlier had made reference to the present revisionist agenda in the Episcopal Church only to be "strategic" in impacting the worldwide Anglican Communion in a different way, but as a point of contrast. There was no competitiveness, no war games, no siege mentality, no contrived indignation, no wounded righteousness.
