Should gays and lesbians debate scripture?

Religion Dispatches has a dialogue on whether it is possible for LGBT believers to debate other believers, particularly those who cite the seven "clobber" verses of the Bible, about scripture.
Jay Michaelson, the founder of Nehirim: GLBT Jewish Culture & Spirituality, says that a direct approach is required. The Rev. Candace Chellew-Hodge, pastor of Jubilee! Circle United Church of Christ in Columbia, S.C. says don't argue scripture at all.

Editor's comment: You can read the rest of this post at The Lead. I take issue with Gerns' terminology about the socalled "clobber" verses. Should we call the 10 Commandments "clobber" verses or any other godly admonition in Scripture? The issue should never be Christians clobbering other Christians with Bible verses. The issue should always be obedience to God's will as it has been revealed in Divine Revelation (i.e. Holy Scripture).
