An Episcopal priest accused of shoving an elderly parishioner told police that the woman bumped into him and witnesses are "lying" that he shoved the woman hard enough to make her stumble backward, according to the police report.
The Rev. Jay R. Lawlor of St. Luke's Episcopal Church also told police that he didn't know the name of the woman, Marcia Morrison, although she is a decades-long member of the church and sings in the choir.
