pecusa and the ACNA

The next story about the retirement of the Episcopal Bishop of Rhode Island carries a familiar theme - dwindling pecusa numbers. Meanwhile, in the ACNA two bishops were elected yesterday to serving a growing province in North America. It must really upset pecusa to see their numbers decline year after year while the ACNA grows. You would think that a rational person might look at the ACNA churches and the pecusa institution and conclude that pecusa is on the wrong track. Of course, as is shown often, liberals are not rational people. Liberalism may not be a mental disorder as talk radio shock jock Michael Savage says, but it is certainly not a way to grow a denomination or individual churches.

We rejoice in the election of Julian Dobbs and Felix Orgi to the episcopate. We are grateful to God for the growth that has precipitated the need for two more bishops. May your tribe continue to increase as we look forward to the day when pecusa has either repented of her waywardness or ceased to exist.
