I am always amused when someone in the clergy calls for change because it inevitably involves throwing out doctrines held for hundreds, if not thousands, of years ("Bishop: Episcopal Church must change," May 5).
We live in a society of mass consumerism, escalating race hatred (fanned by certain politicians in Washington) and dramatic decreases in those who believe that the Ten Commandments have any validity. The results are epidemics of infidelity in marriage, children born out of wedlock, sexual promiscuity, cheating in schools and disrespect for the physical person and property of others.
