All Saints Pawleys Island S.C. votes to affiliate with Anglican Church in North America (ACNA)
[Ed. Note: It is official. All Saints Pawleys Island, the flagship church in the Anglican Mission (AM) where Chuck Murphy was rector at the time he left TEC, has decided to leave the AM and affiliate with the Anglican Church in North America. The Anglican Mission decided to leave the Province of Rwanda in 2011 and affiliate elsewhere in the Communion. This decision caused a major fracture, with churches, priests and bishops leaving the AM and seeking jurisdictional coverage from other sources. Now All Saints, at the urging of their rector, has left the AM and will affiliate with ACNA. The South Carolina Supreme Court declared in 2009 that they owned their property (not the TEC diocese) so that is a non-factor. Will the fracturing ever end? Cheryl M. Wetzel]

Leadership Statement from All Saints, Pawleys Island Following Parish Vote to Affiliate with the ACNA
This past Monday night the parish of All Saints Church in Pawleys Island voted to disaffiliate with the AMiA and to affiliate with the ACNA. Yesterday the Rector and Sr. Warden of All Saints issued the joint statement reprinted below. Please join me in praying for all involved. Such things are difficult and painful in a parish.

STATEMENT FROM ALL SAINTS CHURCH
November 6, 2012
It’s a new chapter in the long history of All Saints Church, Waccamaw.
The work before us today, as we see it, is that we all need to look to the Lord.
He is in control, and He has a plan that is far beyond what we can imagine.
Right now, of course, there are all sorts of emotions and feelings among the people of All Saints.
That’s why we need, each and every one, to turn to the Lord and follow His guidance in healing broken relationships.
For those who feel truly called to serve God through the Anglican Mission, and who cannot do so as part of the Anglican Church in North America, we pray that they are able to continue in the important Kingdom work to which the Lord has called them, and where there is a parting, let us part in peace.
Martha Lachicotte, Sr. Warden
The Rev. Rob Grafe, Rector
