Hillary Douglas chair of the steering committee appointed to provide oversight for South Carolina Episcopalians wishing to remain under the national church has a formidable task. He views this situation like a divorce in which one party has walked out on the other. The task of the steering committee will be to provide support for those left behind.
As reported by VOL on November 14th I spoke with Mr. Douglas as well as two other members of his steering committee. I found them open and honest which was in direct contrast to what I experienced by their written communications. Mr. Douglas faces a critical problem that immediately requires his attention. Will this committee be forthright or continue to engage in duplicitous and deceptive behavior.
