Bible Abused in Gay Marriage Media Debates

The post-Christian West is running after same-sex marriage and there is little the Church can do to stop it. What should worry orthodox Christians most in both the US and the UK is the way the Bible is being abused by false teachers in secular media debates.
Two recent examples on the BBC are instructive - one debate involving Anglican Mainstream's Canon Chris Sugden on Newsnight and another involving me on Radio Sheffield,
Against Canon Sugden, the suffragan Bishop of Buckingham, Alan Wilson, advanced an astonishing argument. He claimed that the fact that in the New Testament marriage is compared to the relationship between Christ and His Church allows for the de-gendering of marriage because the Church, described as the Bride of Christ, is made up of both men and women.
