Very recently a book came into my possession as a loan. I had not previously heard of it or its author. Written about fifty years ago, it is called “The Christian Mind” and its author was a layman called Harry Blamires. The blurb on the dust jacket indicated that in the period just after the last War, he was a prolific writer on theological subjects.
As I read this book I soon became aware that almost everything he predicted would happen, has come about today with even greater force than it would have done fifty or sixty years ago. Harry Blamires was remarkably prescient in his anticipation of what was going to happen in the future.
