Pro-Abortion Propaganda Machine Works Overtime

Overtime doing nothing, that is. If anyone ever tries to tell you that the major broadcast networks are still in the news (as opposed to propaganda) business, here’s a devastating two-word response: “Kermit Gosnell.” From Life News:
ABC, CBS, and NBC’s morning and evening newscasts have yet to cover the trial of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, which began on Monday. Gosnell is charged with murdering seven babies who were born after viability in his rundown abortion facility. The Big Three also gave the story minimal coverage back in January 2011, after the Philadelphia physician was arrested. ABC completely ignored it, CBS Evening News aired one full story, and NBC gave just 50 words on Today.
Even the New York Times covered the trial in a Tuesday article, though it appeared on page A-17. Writer Jon Hurdle documented how Gosnell is charged with killing the babies by “plunging scissors into their necks and ‘snipping’ their spinal cords.”
If this were the trial of someone accused of killing an abortion doctor, it would be getting nightly coverage. But the trial of a man accused of multiple, serial killings of infants, and of enlisting the aid of others in the killing, a man who kept “souvenirs” of his handiwork in jar scattered around his office, and who may well have killed hundreds in addition to the seven he’s charged with murdering (plus one adult, a mother who died as a result of his ministrations)–such a trial merits no attention whatsoever.
Remember, these are “news” organizations that obsessed for months over the O.J. Simpson trial, and that gave extensive coverage to trials and murder cases such as Casey Anthony, Natalie Holloway, Jon Benet Ramsey, and most recently Trayvon Martin. But because covering the Kermit Gosnell trial might mean that some people might reassess their support of the universal abortion license, it has to go down the memory hole. Most Americans have known for years that the mainstream media has a liberal bias, but this goes beyond bias to a kind of propaganda by silence. From this time forward, I will no longer be referring to them as media outlets, much less as news organizations. From now on, they are officially “Leni Riefenstahl Inc.”
