A lawyer is warning a Human Rights Tribunal against straying into religious freedoms as it considers a discrimination case against the Anglican Bishop of Auckland.
Eugene Sisneros, an events coordinator for St Matthew in the City, has accused the Anglican Bishop of Auckland Right Reverend Ross Bay of preventing him from entering the Anglican Church's training or discernment programme for priests because he is unmarried and in a sexual relationship with his male partner.
