In the post below, Terry Mattingly nails one truth about gay politics that should be self-evident by now - gay politics are divisive. Gay politics divides churches, denominations, and the general populace. Gay politics have split Anglicanism in the United States and is in the process of splitting the United Presbyterian Church.
In the 70s, prominent Episcopal Church leaders argued against the charismatic saying that it could not be of God since it was divisive. Unfortunately, a number of these same leaders, much older now, do not use the same litmus test for homosexuality and the church. For liberals, arguments are only useful insofar as they push the agenda. If they don't push the agenda, they are easily discarded. Liberalism is never about truth because liberalism has become subjectivism and relativism.
So, while the gay issue continues to diminish pecusa, and is diminishing the pcusa, it is now intent on diminishing the Boy Scouts of America. I hope and pray that the Boy Scouts will be smarter than the churches that have embraced the pansexual agenda.
