Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Recently, while shopping for Christmas cards, it became apparent that a number of the card designers in the greeting card industry have no clue what Christmas is really about, or if they do, they are so caught up with the secularization of Christmas and being "politically correct," they avoid making any reference to the birth of Christ or God's loving gift of His Son. Consequently, many of the so-called "Christmas" cards have little or nothing to do with Christmas.

The following are a few examples of some of the "Christmas" cards I came across. One card had a snowman on the cover with the words: "Enjoy the Magic of the Season." Another card had a picture of a Christmas tree ornament and the following message: "Happy Holidays. Hope your holidays are filled with all the things that make this season special." Then there was a card with a picture of a sleigh with presents and the message: "Christmas Wishes. Wishing you a sleigh full of surprises. Merry Christmas." One card had a decorative snow flake with the message: "Silent Night, Holy Night - May your holidays be calm and bright." Another card had a colorful wreath and a bird on the cover with the words: "Merry Christmas - Wishing you all the Season's beauty and delight." One last card had a picture of a pinecone and greenery with the message: "Warmest Holiday Wishes. Wishing you all the good things you deserve - a beautiful season and endless moments of joy now and throughout a very happy new year." Needless to say, I didn't buy any of the above cards.
