CANADA: Anglican Church of Canada Closes Keewatin Diocese

The Anglican Church of Canada will close the Diocese of Keewatin by the end of the year.
Archbishop David Ashdown says they will be merging their operations with the church in Northern Manitoba.
Ashdown says a new aboriginal diocese - Mishamikoweesh - is being created for communities in northern Ontario and Northern Manitoba.
Press reports say that on June 1, 2014 a self-determining, self-sustaining Indigenous church within the Anglican Church of Canada will come into being.
