The Stand Firm swirl

Portions of the Anglican blogosphere are in a bit of a tizzy over Stand Firm's Greg Griffith's conversion to Roman Catholicism.  While VirtueOnline, the largest American Anglican blog, has not commented on this (justifiably so, imo), Stand Firm and it's stablemate TitusOneNine have posted statements by three frequent contributors to Stand Firm.  I can't tell you what's going on in the comments since I've ceased reading them on those sites years ago.

So, what's the big deal?  The founder of Stand Firm hasn't stood firm, as newspaper columnist Rod Dreher has said.  Hey folks, the world will go on, the Anglican world will not miss a beat, and so it goes.

I'm sure that it is disheartening for the Stand Firm crowd, but I learned years ago that that outfit is largely a sycophant crowd anyway.  Outside views were not tolerated, and when they were voiced the perpetrator was banned from ever commenting again.  So, Greg is gone, maybe they'll have to update the site once again, bring in some more voices, but again, so what?
