From courierpress.com:
Obama, McCain fail to respect God's commands

Richard Pryor is not someone I would normally consult for political guidance. But for this year's presidential election, I'll make an exception.
In the classic movie "Brewster's Millions," Pryor plays a man named Monty Brewster. Monty enters the campaign for mayor of New York City, but he doesn't enter to win. Rather, he shows how horrible both candidates are, and he encourages people to vote for "None of the above."
As a result, both candidates lose. "None of the above" wins, and a new election is forced.
That is what America should do this November.
Barack Obama openly supports same-sex unions and abortion. These are clearly prohibited by Scripture, so no Christian should vote for Obama.
Earlier this year in Nelsonville, Ohio, Obama admitted that Scripture prohibits homosexuality, but he claimed that Romans Chapter 1 is "obscure" and less "central" than other parts of Scripture.
Many Christians think they will be better off with John McCain. Unfortunately, they are mistaken.
In an interview on Nov. 19, 2006, McCain said that homosexuality is not a "sin."
On Aug. 24, 1999, McCain said that "in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe vs. Wade," according to Ron Fournier with The Associated Press. On May 13, 2007, in a Meet-the-Press interview, McCain changed his story. And a flip-flop a mere year and a half before the election fails to leave me all warm and fuzzy inside.
Also bothersome to many Christians, on Page 265 of McCain's 2005 book, "Character is Destiny," he approves of Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.
Even at the most basic level, McCain disrespects the simplest commands of Jesus. In a June 2007 interview with McClatchy Newspapers, he admitted that he had never even been baptized.
If he disobeys Christ's simple command to be baptized, why would he respect any of God's other commands? McCain disagrees with God regarding homosexuality, abortion and the origin of life. So we should not be surprised when he disrespects other Scriptures as well.
Morally speaking, it does not matter who wins the election. Neither candidate cares what the Bible says about God's plan for marriage, or the value of infant life. And if both candidates have their morals in the gutter, then I frankly don't care what they do with the economy. God is more interested in righteousness than money.
Some may accuse me of telling America to throw away its vote. But it's too late for that. America already threw away its votes when it put McCain and Obama on the presidential ticket in the first place.
I encourage you to follow Monty Brewster's lead. When you see Obama's and McCain's names on the ticket, do not vote for either one. Just write in, "None of the above."
If enough of us do that, then maybe someone will get the idea. A choice between two bad candidates is worse than no choice at all.
