CANA Statement on Roe v. Wade Anniversary

HERNDON, Va. (January 22, 2010) - The Convocation of Anglicans in North America issued the following statement on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion in the U.S.

"On this anniversary, we honor the lives that have been lost because of legalized abortion in this country and pray for everyone involved who has been impacted by this ongoing tragedy. We cannot see their faces or hear their cries but we grieve for the millions who have died because of the nightmare of abortion. We pray that our country will recognize the importance of protecting every human life, and ask God's forgiveness for areas in which we have failed to honor the sanctity of life. We are grateful that through Jesus the Christ we can find forgiveness and hope, and we pray that our country will choose to protect life in every way possible," said CANA Missionary Bishop Martyn Minns.
