WESTERN LOUISIANA: Orthodox Bishop Says He Will Not Give Consents to Glasspool

The Rt. Rev. D. Bruce MacPherson, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana, has written a letter to the the signatories of the "The Anaheim Statement" saying "... I cannot and will not consent to the elections before us that are in contradiction to that which we have affirmed ...".

Thirty-seven Episcopal bishops signed "The Anaheim Statement" on July 16, 2009 at the close of General Convention 2009, which reaffirmed each of the following:

* our constituent membership in the Anglican Communion, our communion with the See of Canterbury, and our commitment to preserving these relationships.

* our commitment to the doctrine, discipline and worship of Christ as this Church has received them (BCP 526, 538).
