A third victim of Fr. Ralph Johnson has come forward and he states in the story below that the DCNY tried to discourage him from going public. Fr. David Bollinger has stated numerous times that Bp. Adams told him to drop any further investigation into the sexual molestation charges against Johnson. While the DCNY has given their explanation as to why they didn't delve into this (they say that they didn't know who the alleged victims were) it is apparent that at each juncture that the DCNY has tried to cover this matter up rather than deal with it.
When the Ecclesiastical Court of the DCNY demanded that the bishop release the Shaffer Report in the case that Adams pursued against Fr. Bollinger the bishop refused to do so. The bishop chose instead to hide evidence and lose the case he lodged against Fr. Bollinger rather than have the Shaffer Report be made public. The Shaffer Report looks into how the diocese handled the sexual allegations against Ralph Johnson. It is time that the Shaffer Report be released.
