St. Edmund's ‘leaving a site of worship in time of battle’
Last Sunday (January 29, 2012) the CANA congregation of St. Edmund's in Elm Grove celebrated their last Eucharist in their church, praying for sister Christian congregations persecuted by violence in Nigeria and oppressed by TEC's litigation in the USA.  Several minutes before TEC's seizure was to take place on January 31, the TEC bishop began tearing down signs and threatening the rector, the Rev'd Dr. Samuel Scheibler, with arrest.  The Episcopal Church ("TEC") and the TEC Diocese of Milwaukee has thus removed a vital, dynamic worshipping community and a growing Christian Preschool and Daycare -- with a focus on special needs children and their families -- from their property.  The congregation will continue to worship at Elm Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church (LCMS).
