General Convention Prayer Request #1
Tuesday, July 2, 2012 Cherie Wetzel reporting from Indianapolis, Indiana
Dear Readers,
Today we had the opportunity to explore the Convention Center and find all the essential parts: the Press Briefing room; the House of Deputies Hall; the House of Bishops Hall. We found places to eat, places to plug in and get on the internet and of course, the restrooms. This convention center is 2 city blocks long. IT is huge and will require a great deal of walking.
Tomorrow, the Convention actually starts, albeit a prelude. In the morning, we have our first Press briefing, with all the rules and regulations of sitting in Press sections for either House and conduct expected. In the afternoon, the House of Deputies has their orientation meeting and the bishops are in meetings most of the afternoon, with bishop-elect confirmation hearings.
In preparation for the beginning of this Convention, we ask you to pray for three things:
1. Pray for righteous judgement by all voting members involved.
2. Pray for Mercy from God himself. Pray that the Spirit of God will not depart this Church.
3. Please pray for the Anglicans United meeting for the Communion Partners bishops and deputies. They don’t know each other and are usually segregated from each other in the House of Deputies. They need to know that they are not alone. Sixty people are expected at our gathering from 5-7:00 PM. It is the Fourth of July and we have planned this party for nearly a year.
Thank you for taking the time to pray for these concerns. God Bless You.
