The New York Times reported that Brian McLaren "led a commitment ceremony with traditional Christian elements" following his son Trevor's own same-sex marriage.
The elder McLaren formerly led Cedar Ridge Community Church, authored several well-known books, and shines as the guiding light for Emergent Christians everywhere. Many church members have been surprised by this development, also announced on Christianity Today's "Gleanings" website.
