Letter to St. Andrew's, Vestal from Bishop Julian Dobbs
Saturday September 8, 2012
Dear People of God gathered at St. Andrew’s,
Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
I give thanks to Almighty God that today you will worship in your new building. This is the next
step in your journey as faithful followers of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians
But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
(1 Corinthians 2:9 ESV)
You have been faithful in your Christian commitment and what God begins, He is faithful to
complete. (Philippians 1:6)
Together with my wife Brenda, I had the opportunity to walk through the new facility when I was
with you in February of this year and I look forward to being with you in worship in the very near
future.
A Prayer for the Mission of the Church
Draw your Church together, O Lord,
into one great company of disciples,
together following our Lord Jesus Christ into every walk of life,
together serving Him in His mission to the world,
and together witnessing to His love on every continent and island.
We ask this in His name and for His sake. Amen.
With our Lord’s blessing,
The Rt. Rev. Julian M. Dobbs
Bishop
