Two churches have reached the end of a 7 year agreement with the Diocese of Olympia, which avoided any necessity of lawsuits. The parishes of St Charles, Poulsbo, and Grace by the Sea, Oak Harbor, have both peacefully moved to new environs and are continuing with their ministries.
The two parishes, which broke away from the Episcopal Church in 2004, signed a covenant with the Diocese of Olympia in 2006 according to which no action regarding property would be taken during a period of 7.5 years. During that time, the Anglican Communion could also sort out its own mind on these divisive issues.
The 7 year period expired on June 30, 2014, and both communities, and the Episcopal communities they leave behind, are continuing with their ministries and mission.
