David Virtue reports in a post below:
"GAFCON currently represents 75% of the Anglican Communion (40 out of 55 million church-going Anglicans) and after this week that figure could rise significantly. Moderate or "open" evangelicals like Fulcrum, Global South Associates, Anglican Communion Institute and bishops like Tom Wright, (Durham) John W. Howe (Central Florida) will be forced to make a decision. Fence sitting is finished. The 2009 Episcopal General Convention will be a triumph of pansexual behavior in The Episcopal Church. The Episcopal Church is incapable of reversing itself."
DCNY comment: The Archbishops and Bishops gathered at the Global Anglican Futures Conference represent the future of Anglicanism. In removing himself and his diocese from the Anglican Communion Network, Bp. Howe has placed himself on the sideline with the rapidly diminishing pecusa. Bp. Howe got off the fence and aligned himself with the Anglican Communion Institute, a think tank. How pathetic.
There is little question that GC09 will broker in all the unbiblical pansexual behavior that orthodox Anglicans have held out to this point. With the departure of key parishes in many dioceses there won't be much pushback to the liberal sexual agenda at GC09. A bishop told me this privately months ago. pecusa will embrace more fully the entire lgbt agenda, and then will be on to the next great liberal cause. That's how liberalism works.
The future of Anglicanism is GAFCON and those Anglican churches worldwide that are associated with GAFCON. In Central NY, those churches are St. Andrew's, Syracuse, St. Andrew's, Vestal, Good Shepherd, Binghamton and Westside Anglican Fellowship, Syracuse.
