FT. WORTH: A legal dispute with Episcopal Church hierarchy sends the wrong message

While scouting out a local preschool program for my sons during the late 1970s, I visited St. Vincent's Episcopal Church and School on Pipeline Road in Euless and found my spiritual home. In addition to attending the daily chapel at the start of the school day, I nurtured my religious life in this tiny building alongside members of different ages and ethnic backgrounds. St. Vincent's became a personal source of Christian study, volunteer work within the community and friendships. As a result, I decided to move my lifelong affiliation with the Presbyterian Church to the Episcopal Church.
Over time, I watched the congregation population increase as did the need for a larger building. What started as a tiny mission of 17 members in 1955 grew quickly into a parish of 950 members who worked together in raising money and giving contributions for a magnificent new church building on Forest Ridge Drive in Bedford. By 1989, the building was complete and the church, chapel, parish hall and school were dedicated.
