Reflections on GAFCON II: A vision of a Church for a post-secular age

I was greatly encouraged by GAFCON II, the second Global Anglican Future Conference. What I saw was a vision for a Church of the post-secular age. It was an amazing gathering of primates, archbishops, bishops, presbyters/priests, deacons and lay leaders from nearly forty nations, who, in all their diversity and often at great personal cost, were united as disciples of Jesus Christ. I could imagine as never before how a chastened Church might emerge from the current conflicts proclaiming in word and deed the gospel of Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, under the authority of God's word in a way that was truly international, ecumenical, and committed to the mission of God in all its dimensions.
